Known for her beauty and power, Nefertiti is immortalized as the wife of Pharaoh IV Amenhotep (later known as Akhenaten). Nefertiti’s children bore witness to both the brightest and darkest days of Egypt. The queen had six daughters: Meritaten, Meketaten, Ankhesenpaaten (later known as Ankhesenamun), Neferneferuaten Tasherit, Neferneferure, and Setepenre. These princesses grew up in the midst of Akhenaten’s revolutionary period, transitioning from the polytheistic traditional Egyptian beliefs to the monotheistic Aten cult.
